Our Vision

Residents of Outagamie County can walk and bike safely and comfortably along a connected network of trails, bikeways, and sidewalks.

Plan Highlights

1. Toolbox of Trail and Bikeway Facilities

Explore our toolbox that explains different types of bicycle and pedestrian facilities included in the Recommended Trail and Bikeway Network. Discover a variety of options to enhance the walking and biking experience throughout the county, displayed in the Typical Highway Cross Sections.

2. Recommended Trail and Bikeway Network

Get acquainted with specific bikeway and trail recommendations designed to close critical gaps in the County's trail and bikeway network. This section serves as a roadmap for the development of robust bicycle infrastructure.

3. Highway Safety Priority Areas (HSPAs)

Identify areas where extra steps are crucial to ensure the provision of walking and biking facilities along highways and at intersections and crossings. Safety is our top priority, and HSPAs guide us in enhancing these critical areas.

4. Typical County Highway Cross Sections in HSPAs

Access one-page diagrams and guidance outlining the County's approach when repaving or reconstructing highways in HSPAs. These resources ensure a consistent and safe design to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists.

5. Policy and Program Recommendations

Discover non-infrastructure actions and programs that various Outagamie County departments should adopt or prioritize. These recommendations play a vital role in creating the recommended trail and bikeway network and improving overall walking and bicycling conditions across the County.
