Unfortunately, the time has come.  The emerald ash borer has reared its ugly head in Plamann Park and the effects have been devastating.  As a result, we are forced to remove all of the ash trees from what we call the programmed areas within the park.  Our crew has started this process and it was determined that we would offer firewood to our residents who can use it to heat their homes.  Logs will be placed in the lake parking lot and will need to be cut into smaller pieces to handle.

If you are interested in cutting wood on Parks property and picking some up, you must first obtain a permit from the Parks Office during normal business hours.  Cost of the permit is $10.  The permit allows us and law enforcement to track the number of permits issued, ties specific vehicles to the permit, and acts as a release of liability for any potential claims should an unfortunate incident take place.  No one will be allowed to operate a chainsaw on Parks property without first obtaining a permit.  Wood must be loaded by hand into a truck/trailer and no other equipment is allowed on Parks property (i.e. skid steers, tractors, wood splitters, etc.) - Permits are no longer being issued. Almost all trees have been removed at this point.

Feel free to reach out to the Outagamie County Parks Office at 920-832-4790 for more information.

100 replacement trees have been ordered and will be planted throughout Plamann Park through the summer. We have ordered a mixture of balled an burlap, potted, and bare root trees. The trees are mixed species, all native to Wisconsin.
